1. Introduction

Anion rapid setting bitumen emulsifier (ARS bitumen emulsifier) is a high-performance anionic bitumen emulsifier designed for emulsifying both base bitumen and SBS modified bitumen. It offers strong emulsification ability and requires a minimal dosage. The bitumen emulsion produced with ARS bitumen emulsifier can be further modified with anionic SBR latex to be used as a tack coat or with neoprene latex for producing sprayable rapid-setting rubberized bitumen waterproof coatings.

When preparing the soap solution, it is essential to adjust the pH value using sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). The optimal emulsification effect is achieved when the pH value is between 11.5 and 12.0.

4. Application Instructions

Soap Solution Preparation: To prepare the soap solution, first add an appropriate amount of water to the soap tank and stir. Then add the ARS bitumen emulsifier. After the emulsifier has dissolved, add sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH value to 11.5-12.0 for optimal emulsification. Finally, add water to reach the desired volume.
Latex Modification: When using SBR latex or neoprene latex for modification, ensure that only anionic latex types such as SBR, neoprene, styrene-butadiene, or pure acrylic latex are used.
Stabilizer Addition: It is recommended to add a suitable amount of stabilizer (1-2%) to the bitumen emulsion for better storage stability.

5. Packaging and Storage

Packaging: ARS bitumen emulsifier is packaged in iron drums with a net weight of 190 kg or 200 kg per drum.
Storage Conditions: The product should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight.
Shelf Life: Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life of unopened ARS bitumen emulsifier is 24 months.
