By adding multifunctional modification additives to SBS modified bitumen, chemical reactions such as cross-linking, grafting, alkylation, and addition can be promoted in the organic functional groups in the bitumen polymer, and the small molecular weight saturated and aromatic components can be converted into polycyclic colloids with larger molecular weights, thereby increasing the three-dimensional spatial network structure formed by the polymer SBS and bitumen. Such modification increases the strength and elastic range of SBS modified bitumen, thereby improving the low temperature performance and temperature stability of bitumen.

Specifically, after the action of the multifunctional modification additive, the low temperature performance of bitumen is improved by 96.2% compared with traditional bitumen. This means that in a low temperature environment, the modified bitumen has better ductility and crack resistance, and can better adapt to stress changes under low temperature conditions.

In addition, after adding the multifunctional modification additive, the softening point of bitumen is increased by 42.7%. The softening point refers to the temperature at which bitumen begins to soften during heating. The increase in the softening point means that the thermal stability of bitumen is enhanced, and it can better resist softening and deformation under high temperature conditions.

Therefore, the addition of multifunctional modification additives can significantly improve the low-temperature performance and temperature stability of bitumen, making it have better anti-cracking performance.
