Modified styrene butadiene latex has many excellent performance characteristics:
1. Physical properties - particle size and uniformity: The obtained butadiene latex has a large particle size of 300-1000nm, and the latex particles are uniform.
2. Solid content and conversion rate: The latex has high solid content and conversion rate, low residual diene content, non-toxic and odorless, and is easy and safe to produce and use.
3. Viscosity and surface tension: moderate viscosity, low surface tension, good film-forming property, which is conducive to forming a uniform film layer on the surface of the material.
4. Wetting and adhesion: It is acidic, which is conducive to the wetting, distribution and penetration of the surface of various materials, especially for porous materials.
5. Chemical properties - stability: good chemical stability, heat and cold resistance are better than traditional styrene butadiene latex.
6. Aging resistance and heat resistance: Compared with natural latex products, it does not contain protein, so it will not spoil, and has lower odor and higher purity. Its aging resistance and heat resistance are better than natural latex.
7. Other properties - cost advantage: The production cost is relatively low, and it can replace natural latex or be used in combination with natural latex.
8. Preparation advantage: The preparation method is simple and the preparation time is short (less than 20h). The ABS resin prepared using this latex has excellent comprehensive properties such as impact resistance.
These performance characteristics make modified butadiene styrene latex widely used in the bonding of rubber products such as automobile tires, aircraft tires, hoses, conveyor belts, and sprocket cloths, becoming an important raw material in rubber products.
